The idea for the Godstein campaign came from a tweet by AlchemicRaker. He imagined a game where the players would create a world using a Braunstein inspired method of collaborative worldbuilding and then play an RPG campaign in the world that was created. I decided to run with this concept when I started my campaign. I grabbed my normal group of 6 friends to join me and set up a discord server in 2024 for this new experimental game. Some had swingy schedules and were trepidatious about committing a new campaign that I said would be completely different from other campaigns we played. Here was my first post in that discord in February:
Great explanation, Harmony. I wanted to hear more details on how this came to be- the Godstein is how i found your x content in the first place! Thanks for sharing
Big fan in X, now excited to see this over here on Substack. Look forward to reading the next phase
Thank you!!

Hey, I just wanted to say I've been loving the write-ups!
I'm going to be playing in a Godstein soon and I was curious about some things.
As deities, did the players tend to spend more mana on their fellow players to strengthen their followers or did they use it on more world-changing?
Secondly, did the players-as-deities use mana in-character to what their deity would naturally aim for or was it more strategic power-plays?
I stressed to players that I wanted them to roleplay their diety and they shouldn't be doing power plays unless they think their diety would do this.
For the most part they were good about this. Some used mana in strange ways but most roleplayed.
One player was a bit all over the place and could never really decide what his god was meant to be, and that caused something of a headache.
I bet! My group tends to have characters with pretty solid motivation, so I hope we won't encounter the same issue.
Thanks for the quick response!
